Ep 8- Institutions (Part 1: Heritage today, Graun Tomorrow)

In this 2 part episode we have a closer look at how the transphobic political wave has used access to and influence over major political and cultural institutions. Obviously, all political movements attempt to influence society, but this episode will be an analysis of who they target and how they succeed. Basically, we are going to do a rather broad assessment and forecast of “terf strategy”- if indeed there is such a  thing.

 

In this first half we look at the UK media and columnist scene in broad terms, and also examin how this interacts with the government and civil society activism. all this is in preperation for part 2, in which we continue our general analysis with a look at academia, and then use this information to make a model of how the TERF strategic hivemind works.

 

While we would generally warn listeners that most of our episodes contain discussion of material that may be upsetting- and this episode is not necessarily an exception- the subject matter in this episode will be a bit more abstract than previously. More broad strokes and less gory details.
